Self-Care

I used to wake up and just go to work. I came in to work with an attitude and bracing for whatever type of day or whatever person would give me a hard time today. This happened everyday. To be honest, I would stress myself out every morning and my heart rate would be about 117 beats per minute.

So I decided to change my routine and woke up differently. I sat down one Sunday, made out four morning routine schedules and set them for different times of the morning. One for waking up early, one for waking up on time, one for my “lazy, do not want to get up because I am tired,” and one “ehh” day. This worked for me, however it changed the way I wake up, my habits and gave me more options to do things in the morning that I would normally do one the weekends.

It formed good habits. I get to read again, look at the occasional podcast, and let me do a lot of self-care. So, when is the last time you took some time to do self-care? I am not talking about going to the movies with some friends or just laying on the couch. If you want to stay in, have a spa day or create a gingerbread house or watch that Hallmark Movies you have been meaning to look at. If you want to go out, go to a craft fair or take yourself out to a nice restaurant (just you). Be free and do you for once. I did and it did wonders!
